2024

Scope Impact, in partnership with Lyra, is carrying out a discovery and communications strategy sprint in Iringa, Tanzania, exploring critical barriers  and opportunities for increasing knowledge of cervical health and uptake of HPV vaccines. The project is in support of Tanzania’s National HPV Campaign.

We will work with women, adolescent girls, parents, teachers and care providers in Iringa to capture lived experiences and expectations in relation to HPV vaccination and broader cervical health awareness. Leveraging our human-centered and inclusive design expertise, Scope Impact will develop exploration and research facilitation tools, as well as support engagement and equitable participation from the project’s core target audiences. With the insights gained, we will design a creative strategy and communications package to be tested by our Tanzania team and implemented by Lyra, aimed at enhancing vaccination uptake and promoting cervical health awareness in Iringa.

Key objectives:

  • Design an inclusive, replicable and engaging discovery methodology, utilizing a variety of creative approaches suited for diverse participants in Tanzania
  • Conduct HCD research activities to capture the lived experiences and expectations of project participants when considering HPV vaccination for themselves and young girls under their care
  • Collaboratively identify and prioritize communication interventions and opportunities that support evidence-based HPV vaccination educational information
  • Test and finalize a grassroots focused communications package targeting the rural community in Iringa, with the aim of driving demand and uptake of HPV vaccination
