Implementation Lead – India Programmes

Scope Impact is seeking a Implementation Lead - India Programmes for our health and climate-focused initiatives.

Reports to: Chief Programmes Officer | Remote, India | Full-time contract, 1 year (renewable) | ~30% travel to programme sites

The moment we are in

Climate change is reshaping the health crisis. Heat, floods, displacement, and ecological disruption are compounding the burdens communities already face, and the gap between the health system that exists and the one that’s needed is widening fast. Scope Impact exists to close that gap.

Founded in Finland in 2008, we have built an integrated portfolio of AI-driven climate × health solutions, Halla Health, Halla Health PRO, CHIP, and CHART, developed in partnership with over 400 organisations including Amref Health Africa,PATH, UNICEF, CEEW and national and state governments across three continents. India is central to our next chapter.

The role

This is not a typical programme management post. As our Implementation Lead for India, you will be the person who makes our India strategy real,  translating ambitious, evidence-driven pilots into functioning programmes that governments can own, scale, and sustain.

You will anchor Scope’s presence across India from day one. Your starting point is our recently approved Health Wallet (Data in Her Hands) pilot,  a flagship initiative putting women at the centre of their own health data. From there, you will build and grow an expanding portfolio of proof-of-concept pilots at the intersection of climate, digital health, and primary care. You will be shaping what Scope Impact becomes in India over the next decade, not just delivering what’s already been designed.

This role sits at the intersection of government systems, frontline communities, global health partnerships, and frontier digital tools. It demands someone who can move between all of them with credibility and care.

What you will lead

  • Anchor implementation of current and future India pilots, from design through delivery, learning and handover,  working alongside sub-partners and local implementing organisations
  • Build government relationships that last: engage State Mission Directors, State Nodal Officers, and other key stakeholders at national and state levels,, and translate those relationships into approvals, endorsements, and long-term institutional buy-in
  • Own the project management infrastructure: work plans, resourcing, contracts, M&E frameworks, and donor reporting,  held to a high bar for rigour and transparency
  • Represent Scope externally at government, donor, and partner forums and actively support proposal development and new business as the India portfolio grows
  • Shape strategy: contribute directly to Scope’s India roadmap, influencing how we prioritise, partner, and scale

What you bring

  • A postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Management, Development Studies, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of public health experience in India, ideally spanning both state-level government engagement and community-facing delivery
  • A track record of building relationships with senior government leadership, and navigating the complexity of securing approvals, endorsements, and policy traction
  • Strong working knowledge of NHM, Ayushman Bharat, MNCH programmes, and ABDM, and the ability to connect these frameworks to new, sometimes unfamiliar digital health tools
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Hindi and the ability to communicate clearly across government offices, donor boardrooms, and frontline health workers
  • A genuine belief that digital tools, well-implemented, can meaningfully shift health outcomes for underserved communities and the resilience to do the hard work of proving it

Why this role

You will be joining a small, globally connected and deeply committed team at a genuinely consequential moment. Together, we will be building a solution stack that doesn’t just serve the communities you are working with directly. It becomes a model for Asia, Africa and Europe and will have real impact as we scale
