Finance Coordinator

Title: Finance Coordinator
Reports to: CEO
Type: Part-time (60%, 3 days a week, with possibility to increase), open-ended
Based in: Helsinki, Finland
Travel: Up to 5% International

In the role of Finance Coordinator, your responsibility will be to maintain and coordinate finance functions, under the direction of the CEO, to enable smooth operations of Scope Impact’s business and the successful delivery of impact initiatives around the world.

 

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Lead and supervise purchase invoicing, receivables management and expense accounting
  • Maintain finance monitoring files and oversee digital/IT tools in support of finance and operations
  • Support leadership in developing cash flow projections and provide detailed, regular financial information for business planning
  • Collaborate closely with Scope Impact’s accounting firm and relay team information to payroll
  • Supervise procurement processes, support teams in drafting contracts, checking partner invoices against contracts
  • Provide project budget development and management support to teams, assist with monthly and quarterly project financial tracking as
    well as monthly invoice preparation
  • Work with accounting firm on end of year accounting, work with leadership team to develop annual company budget and targets
  • Further develop financial processes, and assist CEO and leadership in taking forward new initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the
    company
  • Support CEO and leadership team in ensuring the profitability and financial sustainability of Scope
  • Support CEO in preparing for and reporting to the Board of Directors
  • Manage company’s IT systems and accounts

 

In addition, the Employee shall do additional related tasks as from time to time directed by the Employer.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Commitment to social change and Scope’s development and health mission
  • 2-3 years professional experience in financial management
  • Relevant degree from a University or University of Applied Sciences
  • Strong numeric and IT skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is a requirement, knowledge of Visma Netvisor and Visma Severa an asset
  • Proactive, self-driven and organized way of working, excellent eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to create trusting relations and to work in multicultural, diverse teams
  • Fluent oral and written English and Finnish language skills
