Title: UI Designer
Reports to: Project Lead
Type: Fixed-term consulting contract

Position description
In this role, you will work closely with Scope’s cross-functional team of service/UX designers, a creative strategist and global health experts, you would deliver the UI design for a native Android app for decentralized and climate resilient health services in a specific geography. Your tasks would include:
- Develop a strong visual identity and style for the app
- Develop a UI design components library
- Present ideas, concepts and design solutions to the team based on previously shared wireframes and flows
- Incorporate feedback into your designs
- Create accessible digital experiences for users with low digital literacy
- Translate self-care content and guidelines into highly visual and engaging forms through illustrations, icons, the introduction of video and/or audio media for users with low medical literacy
- Build clickable/interactive prototypes for demonstration of the service solution flows
- Promote best practices in UX, UI, and interaction design
As a UI designer you:
- Have an excellent grasp of color theory and an in-depth understanding of typography and UI design principles
- Are skilled at optimizing architecture, interactions, and hierarchy of content following user-centered design (UCD) principles
- Have a good understanding of user interface design principles and usability for standard platforms (web, mobile, and wearables)
- Are comfortable working with Figma, InVision or similar sketching and prototyping tools
- Have knowledge and experience of building or maintaining a design system
- Have a sharp eye for layout design and an awareness of design trends
- Are able to interpret insight and feedback and pitch creative concepts, demonstrating lateral thinking and ideation
- Are able to take a high level view of user needs and have a holistic understanding of the user experience
- Are able to provide clear, articulate rationale for design choices and approach
- Are self-driven and have a solid problem-solving orientation and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
It’s a plus if you:
- Have abilities in copywriting
- Have abilities in animation for UI or motion graphics
- Have a good understanding of software development process
Required skills and experience
- Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience delivering user interface design solutions for various clients, including interactive user flows, style guides, presentations and complex mobile prototypes
- 3+ years of experience with UI design and rapid prototyping tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Invision, Framer or Flinto
- A strong online portfolio or samples of work showcasing related projects with strong mobile UI design and visuals with a solid design process behind them
- Interest and/or previous design work experience within global health or health-related sector
Timing and duration:
The work will take place between March 2023 and April 2023, with a total of 10 working days.
